So we’re past the halfway mark for January 2013 and I thought I’d catch you up on the outcome of a blog I posted last year about what I wanted to accomplish in my holidays. Although I managed to check most of my list off, one or two will have to be carried over into 2013! I forgot how crazy the week before Christmas can be.
Here’s how I did:
1. Spend an entire day in bed or at the very least, in my pyjamas.
After forcing myself to spend a day in my pj’s (I couldn’t bear to stay in bed all day) near the beginning of the holidays, I ended up in bed with a serious cold for three days near the end. What a way to end your holidays!
2. Spend the afternoon relaxing at the dam (picnic time)
Tammy, Graham, Steven and I spent an entire afternoon at the dam picnicking and enjoying the scenery. We even fed the ducks and geese. What a magical afternoon!
3. Pool Party! (Including Lilos, Cocktails and lots of sunblock!)
First of all, I don’t own any lilos (I know, right!), second of all, I didn’t get around to lazing around the pool. I did however dip my feet in the pool.
4. Take a day trip to Harties and explore.
Didn’t manage to get to this one either. Bleh
5. Finish reading an entire book.
Yes, I totally did that! I finished the book I was reading as well as one other! Eat, Pray, Love is such a beautiful and inspiring book and a definite must read if you’re feeling stuck in a rut! Lunch in Paris spoke right to my current Paris obsession and I’m very excited to try some of the recipes that close each chapter off.
6. Write a goals list for 2013.
7. Finish off my Christmas presents.
I did this, alright. With lots of creativity and pizazz! I’ll have to do a post on my Christmas present creations pretty soon to show you what I got up to!
8. Go for sun downers somewhere with a beautiful view <3
With the view of Johannesburg behind us, drinks with special friends was spectacular!
9. Visit The Beach.
I know which beach I meant and I didn’t make it there, so it’s on the to-do list. However we did make it to the real beach!
10. Go for a luxurious massage.
And luxurious it was! If you live in the Alberton area, I seriously recommend Aura Thai Spa. I was pampered for two hours and it was well worth it. Here is a picture from one of my previous visits:
11. Movie night! (Rent movies and eat loads of popcorn)
This happened so often in my holidays but I’d have to say the most memorable movie night was watching The Grinch with the family on Christmas Eve!
12. Nap as much as possible! (#lovenaps)
I took this one very seriously and made it an almost everyday occurrence!
How were your holidays? Did you manage to do everything you wanted to?
