Crazy about Crois-Nuts!

As a young girl, it was a Sunday family tradition to stop by a small bakery in Claremont after church to treat ourselves to the best doughnuts in town. We’d enjoy them in our lounge with a cup of tea while my dad read the newspaper.

Doughnuts bring back such fond memories of my childhood and when I heard that Belle’s Patisserie was launching the Crois-Nut, I just knew I had to sink my teeth into one.

Belle's Patisserie's Crois-Nuts
Belle’s Patisserie’s Crois-Nut range includes flavours for all tastes such as chocolate, custard, jam and plain. Costs R25 each.

Definition: A Crois-Nut is the perfect blend of the classically French croissant and the much loved doughnut into an indulgent delicacy, perfect as a tea time treat, a sweet breakfast option or a delightful dessert.

I was lucky enough to attend the launch of these exciting new French inspired pastries and, boy, was I impressed! Being a chocolate lover, I’ll have to admit the chocolate Crois-Nut was my favourite but I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t highly impressed with the jam, custard and plain flavours, too!

These delicious pastries will only be available at Belle’s Patisserie (Blubird Centre, Birnam) from tomorrow, 7:30 am for R25 each. I’ve also heard they’re limiting Crois-Nuts to two per person due to high demand, so I’d suggest getting there early!

Go on, treat yourself to this delicious delight, I promise you won’t be disappointed!  I’m even considering starting my own Sunday Crois-Nut tradition!
